This magnificent original sword can be seen in Madrid at the Don Juan Institute of the Count of Valencia and is referenced in many of Ewart Oakeshott's books as a supreme example of a Type XII sword. He rightly describes it as "sweet and well balanced in the hand, as it is beautifully proportioned."

This Oakeshott Type XII sword has a sturdy ra blade of 1085 high carbon steel that has a full and fully hardened spike. A Latin inscription on the top of the knob says AVE MARIA PLENA GRATIA, and another in the cross of the guardian in Spanish says: on the one hand, GOD IS A BINDER IN TOD, and on the other, O GOD IS A BINDER IN ALL A. The grip is made of wood covered in intense red leather crossed with black leather strips and bronze studs for an infallible grip.

Includes a heavy sheath and a set of custom long belts with aged metal hardware.
